Organizing conferences can be a complex task, but automating certain processes can significantly ease the workload and enhance the overall experience. Inspired by a discussion about these challenges, a tutorial was created utilizing tools like n8n, Typeform, Bannerbear, Airtable, and Trello to streamline the management of speaker submissions. The tutorial outlines a three-step workflow to automate the collection, review, and notification process for conference proposals. Initially, speaker data is gathered through Typeform and stored in Airtable for blind review by multiple reviewers. Submissions that score above a threshold are then exported to Trello for a final assessment, where promotional assets are generated using Bannerbear and added to the Trello cards. The final workflow involves notifying the accepted speakers with emails and promotional materials. This automated process not only saves time but also aims to reduce unconscious bias during the review process, and the tutorial encourages further exploration and sharing of automated workflows within the community.
