MongoDB 4.4 and MongoDB Cloud are now available, offering a unified data platform for modern applications. The new version of MongoDB includes features such as aggregation enhancements, refinable shard keys, hedged reads, and mirrored reads, making it easier to work with the database. MongoDB Cloud expands on this by providing a fully-managed global cloud database, Atlas Auto-Scale, schema suggestions, and other tools and services that simplify building apps with MongoDB. These include Atlas Search, Data Lake, Online Archive, Realm Mobile Database, and application development services such as serverless functions and GraphQL Service. The announcement also includes new drivers for Rust and Swift, and expanded language support.
