The U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has launched the U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) to foster the creation and implementation of safe AI systems. The consortium comprises over 200 members, including major tech companies like MongoDB, Amazon, and Google, and aims to develop science-backed guidelines and standards for AI safety. As a founding member, MongoDB aims to guide organizations in safely deploying AI systems without hindering innovation. Concurrently, MongoDB is undergoing a leadership transition, with Dev Ittycheria retiring as CEO and Chirantan “CJ” Desai stepping into the role. Desai brings extensive experience in scaling technology companies and is expected to guide MongoDB through its next growth phase, leveraging the company's strengths in AI and data applications. MongoDB remains committed to its strategic goals and technological advancements, with Ittycheria staying on the Board to ensure a smooth transition.
