This approach, utilizing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), enhances LLM responses by grounding them in real-world context, thus improving accuracy and relevance. A practical demonstration using "Game of Thrones" showed that knowledge graph-enhanced LLMs provided more precise responses by leveraging complex relationships. Microchip's Senior Data Scientist, William Firth, discussed transitioning these technologies from theoretical scenarios to real-world business applications, such as improving customer service chatbots. The session also addressed challenges like data privacy, scalability, and the importance of an intuitive graph model for effective LLM interactions, highlighting Microchip's custom LLM development to maintain data confidentiality.
