Transferring Figma files to After Effects
Blog post from LogRocket
UI designers are increasingly required to integrate and animate assets, and a popular approach involves using Figma and After Effects. Although SVG files cannot be directly imported into After Effects, designers can export Figma files as SVGs, organize them in Illustrator, and then import them as compositions in After Effects, retaining individual layers for detailed animation. After Effects offers a range of tools for creating animations, such as using keyframes and the Puppet Position Pin tool, to animate elements like characters. For exporting, designers often convert animations into loopable GIFs using Adobe Media Encoder or Photoshop for better compression and quality. Despite challenges like file size during GIF exporting, using online compressors or alternative methods can mitigate these issues. This workflow enhances the perceived professionalism of UI designs, adding value to digital products.
