Retool successfully scaled its Next.js marketing site using Hypertune to integrate feature flags and experimentation directly within the codebase, addressing limitations of previous visual A/B testing tools. This integration allowed them to run A/B and multivariate tests, as well as personalization campaigns, with improved accuracy and efficiency. By deploying on Vercel and utilizing Hypertune's Edge Config, they achieved near-zero latency in flag updates, enabling seamless server and client-side operations without layout shifts or delays. The Hypertune SDK provided full end-to-end type safety, allowing marketing to manage flags, experiments, and personalization rules independently from the engineering team. This setup ensured accurate data collection during major launches without impacting site performance, and Retool plans to leverage Hypertune's multivariate AI loops for optimizing landing page elements across different visitor segments.
