Game Off 2020's theme is MOONSHOT
Blog post from GitHub
The Game Off event this year centers around the theme "MOONSHOT," encouraging participants to think ambitiously and creatively to develop games that challenge the boundaries of possibility. Participants are invited to interpret the theme in various ways, such as creating a roguelite lunar lander game, a platformer on the moon, a time-travel adventure to alter history, or solving global issues with futuristic tech. The event runs from November 1 to December 1, during which developers can work individually or in teams to create their games using any preferred game engines, libraries, or languages. Entrants must store their game's source code and assets in a public GitHub repository and submit their creations via itch.io. Following the event, submitted games will be open for voting, with highlights featured on the GitHub Blog, offering creators a chance to share their innovative projects with a broader audience.
