Dynatrace has introduced new Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities to streamline user permission setups and enhance flexibility at an enterprise scale. These updates include the implementation of Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), which offers granular control over access permissions, thus enhancing security and adaptability to dynamic environments. The introduction of rethought default policies aims to simplify the complexity of managing access, providing a consistent security baseline with predefined roles like Standard User, Pro User, and Admin User policies. Additionally, Dynatrace has launched policy boundaries to ease partition management, allowing admins to specify where users can access features and data separately from the policies themselves. While default policies address common access control needs, custom policies can be created for more advanced scenarios, albeit with additional maintenance. These enhancements are part of a broader initiative to improve access management and security measures for Dynatrace users, encouraging both new and existing customers to adopt the advanced ABAC system.
