The story of SWOP, an app that was created as a marketplace for students to exchange old clothing, began when its founder, Lars Richter, was asked by his children to help them deliver their old clothes to school. This experience turned into a regular routine, and with an entrepreneurial mindset, Lars came up with the idea for SWOP. He realized that the project could also help prevent CO2 emissions and be positioned as a sustainable marketplace alternative to recycling clothes. Lars decided to build his app using Bubble's no-code platform, which expedited the process of building SWOP and allowed him to focus on concept ideation. The agency built the app within a month, and it was published in both the App Store and Play Store. SWOP was accepted into the Plug and Play accelerator and raised a private seed round from investors, leveraging Bubble's platform to continuously improve their product. With a user-centric approach and robust UX, SWOP aims to reach 250,000 users by 2023 and integrate AI filters, Metaverse, Blockchain, and NFT in its fashion app while maintaining its sustainability value.
