Charlala is a teacher-created platform for the world language classroom that provides a suite of tools to bypass traditional instruction and enhance communication and long-term language acquisition. The app offers two core tools: a simulated conversation tool and a digital whiteboard tool, which are integrated into the platform to allow teachers to organize classes, create assignments, host synchronous activities, and provide feedback using rubrics. Charlala was built on the no-code platform Bubble, which enabled Chris Hammer, a Spanish teacher and world language curriculum specialist, to rapidly build and implement his app without outside contractors or funding. The app has grown from a tool in one classroom to being used in over 38 countries across the globe, with over 10,000 registered teachers and recent monetization success. Charlala's future plans include continuing to develop solutions for the education community, based on Chris' firsthand experience in the classroom.
