Anthropic has announced two initiatives to integrate AI into education, establishing a Higher Education Advisory Board and launching AI Fluency courses. The advisory board, chaired by Rick Levin, comprises distinguished academic leaders who will guide the development of Claude, an AI system, to enhance learning and critical thinking in higher education while upholding academic integrity and student privacy. The board includes experts like David Leebron, James DeVaney, Julie Schell, Matthew Rascoff, and Yolanda Watson Spiva, each bringing extensive experience in academia and educational technology. The AI Fluency courses, developed in collaboration with educators globally, are designed to provide practical frameworks for integrating AI into teaching and learning. These courses, which are available under a Creative Commons license, aim to equip educators and students with the skills necessary for responsible AI use in academic and career contexts. Through these initiatives, Anthropic seeks to support universities in navigating AI's transformative potential in education.
