CVE-2022-1096: How Cloudflare Zero Trust provides protection from zero day browser vulnerabilities

What's this blog post about?

Google recently published an emergency security update to patch a high severity vulnerability (CVE-2022-1096) in all Chromium-based web browsers. To maintain cybersecurity posture, users are encouraged to update their local web browsers promptly. However, this remains a reactive measure against existing threats. Cloudflare offers proactive protection against zero day browser threats through its Zero Trust and Remote Browser Isolation services. These services provide layered defense strategies that inspect and filter traffic, execute all website code in remote browsers, and automatically destroy and reconstruct remote browsers at the end of sessions to minimize attack surfaces. Patching remote browsers is a different process from patching local ones, as it does not require user intervention or work disruption. Cloudflare's Browser Isolation service is available for both self-serve and enterprise customers, offering fast and secure remote browsing for teams worldwide.
