MongoDB has introduced the Query Library feature for Atlas Charts, enhancing its data visualization capabilities by allowing users to save and load custom MongoDB Query Language (MQL) queries, thus streamlining the chart-building process. This feature is designed to assist teams in efficiently leveraging their data for business decisions by eliminating the need to recreate or manually share queries across dashboards. In a separate announcement, Dev Ittycheria, MongoDB's CEO, revealed his retirement plans, with Chirantan “CJ” Desai set to succeed him in November 2025. Desai's extensive experience in scaling companies like ServiceNow and Cloudflare positions him well to lead MongoDB into its next phase, termed MongoDB 3.0, as it aims to harness the rise of AI and data-intensive applications. Ittycheria, who has been with MongoDB for over a decade, will remain on the Board to ensure a smooth leadership transition, expressing confidence in the company's future potential and his belief in its continuous growth and innovation.
