In a recent update, Scott Chacon shared the unexpected demand for stickers offered by Tom, which resulted in over 1,000 emails requesting more than 5,000 stickers, far exceeding their initial stock of 1,500. Faced with this overwhelming response, Scott created a Ruby script to manage the requests by extracting email data, identifying addresses, and storing them in a SQL database. Despite the challenge of improperly formatted addresses, Scott and his wife devised a system to manually address and mail the envelopes, with Scott noting that new stickers have been ordered. Consequently, those who missed out initially should expect to receive their stickers within a few weeks.
