Tom Preston-Werner has transitioned participation graphs from Flash to Canvas, resulting in faster loading times and reduced CPU usage, particularly benefiting Linux users. Although the new graphs currently lack the mouse-over bubbles found in the previous version, there are plans to incorporate them in the future. The conversion was accomplished using Preston-Werner's Open Source Friday project called Primer, which provides a Flash-like interface on top of Canvas to facilitate the creation of dynamic and interactive visualizations. Primer is still in its early stages, but ongoing development is expected to enhance its capabilities, eventually allowing for the recreation of impact graphs.
