Google has released the entire Android stack as open-source software, utilizing Git as their version control system. This transition from Perforce to Git was facilitated by Scott Chacon, who provided training sessions to Google engineers, in collaboration with Shawn Pearce and Dave Bort, to ensure a smooth adaptation to the new system. These efforts aimed to accommodate the engineers' workflow and project size, ultimately enabling Android to be shared widely. Additionally, Logical Awesome, Chacon's company, is now offering similar custom training services to other organizations interested in adopting Git. Scott Chacon's tech talks given during the training will be available on YouTube after post-production by Google.
